The reconstructed buildings of the guesthouse previously served as an agricultural farm, which consisted of four buildings. It was a house, a barn, a stable and a cowshed. The area beyond the cottage is called “U Horáků” – that is, after the Horák family that built the farm sometime around 1890 who were the grandparents of my husband's grandfather.

What exactly is Řídký?
Řídký is a settlement of seven cottages scattered on a hill next to a small village called Protivec, which together with six other villages (Malý Bor, Velký Bor, Šipoun, Blanička, Žíchovec and Svojnice) falls under the municipal office of the town of Strunkovice nad Blanicí, which the locals have nicknamed "Mexico".
